With the fast pace of change globally on innovation and global development, BRAC has outlined an opportunity to expand its preferred mode of engagement to include scaling through influence, generating more knowledge, and working in partnership with diverse stakeholders. These strategic shifts will enable BRAC to increase its direct and indirect impact and ensure it continues to be a trailblazer in how the world alleviates poverty. This shift will require the organization to make several major changes to its capacity and architecture. One important priority in BRACs strategic transformation will be the creation of a new team that magnifies the organizations capability for coordinated program development, partnership management, resource mobilization and organizational learning. This team will serve BRACs global needs, serving as a hub and connecting point for in-country leaders and staff, BRAC Stichting office in Netherland, as well as affiliate offices in the USA and UK.
To design and oversee this initiative, the organization is looking for a mission-focused, senior-level, strategic and process-oriented, leader for a Senior Director position. Reporting to and with strategic guidance of the Executive Directors (ED) of BRAC and BRAC International, the position would lead BRACs efforts to engage strategic partners, diversify and expand fund mobilization, create systems for organizational learning, and develop a coordination system across BRACs affiliates and relevant resources globally. The Senior Director will build a dynamic team, including indirect members with relevant roles globally, and supporting a team-based approach to foster greater learning and future focus in the organizational culture.
The position would work very closely with a senior management team of BRAC, and develop cost-efficient, value-driven performance practices within the organization, by collaborating with a group of diverse, talented individuals in BRAC Bangladesh and globally.
Job Description:
- Oversee the performance of Program, Resource and Learning (PRL) central unit.
- Promote Strategic relations and partnerships to enhance BRACs relevance in Bangladesh and other BRAC operating countries. This includes mapping and approaching potential partners, including traditional donors, new philanthropists, corporations and governments as well as networking and collaborating for emerging funding opportunities.
- Lead a dynamic team to coordinate with programmes in developing and designing innovative and high quality proposals built upon the knowledge base on latest funding trends, policies and innovations for priority focus areas that align with the organizations current and expanding core business.
- Provide timely and accurate tracking of programme pipeline, analysis of outputs and reporting.
- Develop and drive a culture of excellence through knowledge management, continuous improvement and performance optimization across all programme development processes.
- Build a global network of staff across BRAC, BRAC International and Affiliates that work in collaboration to achieve greater visibility, a reputation as a partner of choice and generate opportunities for increased impact.
- Design and lead efforts to improve organizational and programme-level planning such as strategy development, annual operating plans, log frames and link these to reflective activities designed to spur programmatic improvement and capture practical learning.
- Provide guidance in implementing strategies and practices necessary to build up systems for effective collaboration, information sharing and quality control related to programme development and implementation among partners and BRAC staff.
- Lead teams who deliver on the key areas of accountability through their leadership, collaboration, coordination and support to all BRAC International country offices and BRAC Development Programmes and Support Departments
Desired Candidate Profile
Educational Requirements:
- Masters in Business Administration, Economics, Management, International Relations or other relevant field.
- Additional years of relevant work experience, preferably in combination with a relevant bachelors degree, may substitute for the requirement for a masters degree.
Experience Requirement:
At least 18 years of progressively responsible experience in an international organization that includes leading roles in programme development, partnerships, organizational learning and/or stakeholder management/communication.**

Fluency in verbal and written English is required.**

- Significant experience of leading strategic planning and in program designing and proposal development
- A strong understanding of different methodologies of logframes (including the formats required by major donors)

- Experience in successfully establishing and managing collaborative relationships and partnerships with donors and government counterparts in Bangladesh and beyond.
