Key Responsibilities:
• Raise fund for Stichting BRAC International by engaging relevant stakeholders in the Netherlands and European countries when required in coordination with other affiliates, BI senior management, and country management and find contributing resources to achieve BI’s mission.
• Represent Stichting BRAC at high level of Government, Donors, Civil Society Organizations, Social development agencies and private sector and lobby for resource mobilization in an effective manner.
• Motivate and facilitate supporters to maximize the funds they raise and inspire new supporters to raise money, while maintaining and developing relationships with existing supporters.
• Ensure all communications support BRAC values and commitment to poverty and gender justice, particularly by ensuring the Dutch BRAC International website is up to speed.
• Build reputation of Stichting BRAC in the Netherlands as a reliable source of information with relevant media organizations and individual journalists and commentators.
• Maximize influence by protecting and growing BI brand and make risk analyses and balancing time cost ratios to focus effort on the most appropriate fundraising activities with the highest chance of success.
• Produce analysis, policy briefs, submissions and other relevant outputs, including the identification of threats, opportunities, trends and geo-politics which may impact BI.
• Supervise and ensure effective performance of direct reports and proper functioning of Stichting BRAC office with on-time deliverables. Coordinates and organize Board meetings when held in the Netherlands.
• Manage and update databases to record donor contact and preference information and write applications and mail-shots, using direct mailing to reach a wide range of potential and current donors.
• Ensure proper archiving of documents and easy access to information as and when required.
• Periodic monitoring of budget and approve expenses of the Netherlands office and keep abreast of the work going on in the country level.
• Participate in organizational planning and reflection sessions.
Educational Requirements:
• Post-graduate/ Master’s degree in Development Studies, Law, Public Policy/ Administration or equivalent with a demonstrable commitment to poverty reduction and social justice issues.
Required Competencies:
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills in a complex international setting with proven track record of people and team management and development
• Significant experience of leading strategic planning and in program designing and proposal development
• A strong understanding of different methodologies of logframes (including the formats required by major donors)
• Demonstrated evidences in successfully leading team for fund raising in a collaborative manner
• The ability to effectively establish a learning culture within an organization
• Experience in successfully establishing and managing collaborative relationships and partnerships with donors and government counterparts in Bangladesh and beyond.
• Experience of management diversity.
Experience Requirement:
• Minimum 10 (ten) years of experience with proven track record of fund raising in international development organization.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in fundraising for charity and development in the Netherlands and possibly relevant European markets will be of added value.
