BRAC International (BI) is seeking application from competent, dynamic and self-motivated individuals to fill the following position:
Associate Director, Programmes, BRAC International-Readvertisement
The Associate Director, Programmes will report to the Director, Programmes at BRAC International (BI) and support overall leadership for programme development and quality implementation across the BI countries. The role is designed to ensure technical support and effective implementation and quality assurance of various programmes/ projects in each Country Offices in coordination with BI technical anchors. The position drives and coordinates the technical support to all BI Country Offices across all programmatic areas through working closely with the country Programme Heads/ Deputy Country Directors. S/he will have close relationships with BI technical anchors, and programme team members in country offices to ensure successful and effective implementation of each programme/project. S/he will play a critical role in strengthening accountability of the programme team across BRAC International Country Offices, towards demand driven programme/project design, quality implementation and capacity building of the programme team. The position will also drive the cross-programme alignment and integration through holistic programme development for sustainability and transformational change in the communities.
The Associate Director, Programmes will liaise regularly with the Country Programme Heads/DCDs, program managers, technical anchors and respective departments of BRAC International.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive to develop and implement the overall strategy and direction for programme development and their effective implementation in collaboration with Director, Programmes, Technical Anchors, Programme team at COs, Country Directors and key stakeholders to ensure alignment and achievement of BRAC International’s (BI) overall programmatic goals.
- Ensure technical support to programme team at Country Offices through having matrix management role (dotted line with DCD/PH ) in countries for quality programme development and implementation in coordination and support with technical anchors
- Develop effective working relationship with technical team and country level programme team for establishing better coordination and supporting quality implementation of programme/projects.
- Act as a bridge between Country Office programme team and HO-Technical Team for supporting effective implementation and quality control in order to achieve operational success for programme delivery and sustainability towards transformational change in the communities.
- Contribute to the development and review of programme strategy, annual strategic plan (ASP/AOP), and other priority strategies/plans of the programme department.
- Promote new holistic/integrated programme design, cross sectional collaboration for scale up impact through joining design team/review of the design for ensuring quality as per organizational expectations
- Strengthen capacity building efforts of field staff, across the sectors/departments /country teams on practical approaches and standards for high quality programme delivery as well their career growth.
- Guide and support the programme teams in COs on planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the projects/programmes to ensure the effective and efficient execution of project/programme deliverables.
- Lead in-house studies on various thematic issues related to BI programmatic priorities.
- Uphold, promote, follow and apply the Core Values and Mission of BRAC in programme delivery and management
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
- Establish a safeguarding culture across all level of the programme by implementing the safeguarding policy. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Responsible to ensure team members are appropriately trained, supported and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and actioned in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedure.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Educational Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Economics/public policy or other social science related fields.
Required Competencies:

Experience Requirements:
- 15 years of proven strategic programme management and development experience in a developing country setting, preferably in Asia and Africa.
- Preferred to have experience as Associate/Deputy Programme Director/equivalent role or Country/Deputy Country Director/ equivalent role in INGOs
