BRAC International is seeking application from competent, dynamic and self-motivated individuals to fill up the following position:

Programme Manager-Education & ELA (Empowerment & Livelihood for Adolescent)

Key Responsibilities:

Proper planning and timely implementation of projects, lead and coordinate project activities, manage and provide technical guidance to team, reporting in adherence with BRAC and donor guidelines and standards , developing new projects for fund raising (in coordination with the country and head office team), and working closely with government counterparts, stakeholders. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· To ensure quality and effective programme implementation of the relevant country.

· Lead quality educational and ELA project development for long term sustainability of the education & ELA programme of the relevant country.

· Ensure developing operational plans of the existing projects, budgeting for new initiatives & proper utilization of the budget and timely reporting donor reporting.

· Train the education & ELA team for effective programme delivery. Take necessary initiatives to improve the quality of programme delivery on time.

· Maintain close liaison with the donors, Stakeholders, Government Offices and other internal and external authorities.

· Ensure proper logistics supports to the programme.

· Coordinate with other technical departments (health, Food Security & Livelihood, MF etc) and support departments (e.g. admin, human resources).

Person Specifications:

  • Experience of project proposal development/project management/coordination in establishing and managing Education & ELA projects, including monitoring, evaluation, administration, finance, and logistics, in complex and challenging environments
  • Technical knowledge on development, social protection, gender and diversity and environmental issues, and participatory approaches.
  • Development of training materials and other technical training
  • High level of expertise in representation and negotiation with Government, Donors, partners and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt or change priorities and take initiative where appropriate to deal with difficulties encountered in daily work.
  • The ability to work independently, think innovatively and strategically and work effectively within a team.

· Quality to manage national staff in a mature and impartial manner and addressing inequalities in all the key areas of responsibility.

  • Good management and pedagogical skills in the Education and ELA programme.
  • Capacity to manage a multidisciplinary and multicultural team
  • Strong capacity building/training facilitation skills and experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with different stakeholders.
  • Good report writing skills, and experience in conducting surveys.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
  • Diplomacy, tact and negotiating skills
  • Strong financial/budget management skills required
  • The ability to coordinate effective team work and to work effectively within a team
  • Strong conceptual, creative and analytical skills and be responsible, flexible, culturally sensitive.

· Computer skills (Microsoft office, Photoshop)

Educational Requirements:

Graduation on education/development studies/Technical subject areas

Experience Requirements:

Minimum 5 years job experience in implementing integrated Education & ELA Programmes .
