The Senior Associate, Ultra-Poor Graduation, will be responsible for supporting ongoing technical assistance initiatives. Responsibilities will evolve as we grow our services and portfolio of advisory contracts. Generally, responsibilities will include the following:
● Support technical specialists in delivering high quality technical assistance in the areas of:
o Assessments: Context and stakeholder analysis, background research, report drafting
o Graduation model design: Supporting field-level data collection, stakeholder interviews, systems analysis,workshop facilitation
o Graduation implementation: Supporting recruitment of field staff, designing and delivering training curriculum, work planning and process mapping
o Learning and documentation: knowledge product creation
● Contribute to the development of systems, processes, and tools for high quality graduation technical assistance
● Support business development and fundraising, including proposal development for governments and large multilateral funders, development agencies, and large foundations
● Create knowledge products, case studies, and presentations for external audiences
● Organize and/or represent the Ultra Poor Graduation Initiative in global and local events to enhance learning and adaptation of the Graduation approach
● Travel extensively (30 – 40%), at times in locations with limited amenities
Education and Experience:
● Master’s degree in social sciences, international development, or another related field with three years of work experience in international development, including program management and design or capacity building, with field experience in Asia or Africa; or Bachelor’s degree with five years work experience
● Familiarity with BRAC’s Ultra Poor Graduation Approach
● Familiarity with livelihoods, social protection, gender, financial inclusion, or health
● Experience supporting proposal development and fundraising efforts
Skills and Qualifications:
● Exceptional ability to communicate to partners and clients via written products and presentations
● Creative problem solver, able to easily adapt to change in a fast-paced environment across multiple teams
● Proactive leader, with ability to effectively manage competing work streams and deadlines
● Diplomatic, with strong interpersonal skills, and a high degree of cultural sensitivity
● Excellent writing skills in English required. Fluency in French, Portuguese, Swahili, Arabic, or Bengali, a plus.
